Investing in Future Food & Health Leaders
Sustainable Agriculture Bursaries
With 40% of Canadian farm operators expected to retire by 2033 and a forecasted shortage of 24,000 agricultural workers, our bursaries support students pursuing sustainable farming and horticulture. These future leaders are vital to ensuring food security, innovation in agriculture, and environmental resilience. In 2024, we awarded bursaries to students across Canada who led in regenerative farming, agroecology, and food security.
“This bursary helped me a lot and improved my financial situation tremendously. It was my first year at university after transferring from a college, and I was struggling with the transition. The courses were challenging and I was under the stress of how to juggle between focusing on my study and managing to afford the living expenses, tuition, textbook supplies, etc. Because of this bursary, my anxiety has lessened and I was able to focus on the study so much better rather than constantly worrying how to afford the tuition. I was able to achieve good academic standing as a result. I am so grateful for becoming a recipient of this bursary. Thank you so much!” – MW, a current student of BSc Applied Biology, Food and Environment, University of British Columbia

Naturopathic Medicine Bursaries
Education is transformative. Through our bursaries for students in naturopathic medicine, we remove financial barriers and promote careers focused on prevention, community well-being, and plant-based healing. All of our recent bursary recipients are employed in the field, maintained top academic standing, and are committed to giving back through community volunteering.
