We fund gardens that inspire kids for life.

A school garden is where kids grow together. Children learn to grow, harvest, and cook; teachers and students connect over planter boxes; and a bare patch of ground transforms into the heart of the school—a living, breathing educational medium that inspires and changes lives.

School gardens grow more than
food. They create thriving green spaces that can cut down urban heat and bring natural beauty directly to our schools and neighbourhoods.

These living classrooms transform how students learn, building hands-on skills in growing, harvesting, and cooking fresh food that makes its way directly onto local families’ tables.

Working in the soil gives students a deep sense of pride as they watch their hard work bloom. In this calm, joyful space, children learn teamwork, see science come to life, and build lifelong healthy eating habits.

With a grant from the Foundation, the Berry Family Childcare Centre and Dorothy Lynas Elementary grew a garden where children harvested their first peas, beans, and radishes — and elders, families, and kids gathered to share it.
