
Celebrating Earth Day Photo Contest!
Earth Day 2025 is an opportunity to inspire your students to creatively express how they feel about their home—planet earth. They can capture their Earth Day celebrations through their drawings or photos. These activities, in the classroom or the outdoors, will help them learn to make Planet Earth a better place to live and play.
Capture and submit your Earth Day activities via drawings or photos and your school could win a garden grant from $250 to $1,000!
Activity Ideas
- Planting activities
- Hiking in the forest or visiting a local park
- Litter/plastic cleanup
- Harvesting vegetables or herbs from the school garden
- Cooking or preparing healthy food options
- Other . . . the sky is the limit! We look forward to learning about your creative and unique Earth Day projects!
Grant Prizes!
Grants that can be used towards a school garden:
- $1,000 (1 Award available)
- $500 (5 Awards available)
- $250 (10 Awards available)

Contest Guidelines
- Open to all public schools in Canada
- Each classroom can submit up to 10 drawings or photos.
- Submit high resolution photos (300 dpi) in one of the following formats: JPEG, GIF, or PNG.
- Submit a short description (maximum 500 words) explaining how the students celebrated Earth Day 2025.
- Submission deadline: April 30, 2025
- Winners will be announced on June 15, 2025, via email and social media channels.
Criteria for Awarding Grants
- Creativity: How original and imaginative are the activities?
- Engagement: Are the activities engaging and fun?
- Environmental Awareness: Do the activities teach children about nature and the environment?
