Por ejemplo, los ni\u00f1os saben que nunca deben burlarse de un compa\u00f1ero por tener una discapacidad, pero es posible que no los incluyan en las actividades del patio de recreo. Rara vez hay intenciones maliciosas al excluir a quienes muestran diferencias. En su lugar, diversos sentimientos de miedo, incertidumbre y incomodidad les impiden conectarse con cualquier compa\u00f1ero que se desv\u00ede de lo que es <em>percibido<\/em> ser la norma. Como resultado, ambas \u201cpartes\u201d se pierden lo que podr\u00eda ser una amistad incre\u00edble. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Padres y educadores han batallado sobre c\u00f3mo ense\u00f1ar a los ni\u00f1os a ser m\u00e1s comprensivos con los menores que viven con diferencias f\u00edsicas, cognitivas y\/o conductuales desde el principio de los tiempos. Pero al final del d\u00eda, est\u00e1n viendo actores en la pantalla y por lo tanto el mensaje no repercute en su conciencia (y subconsciente) de manera sostenible. Pero cuando sus hijos se toman el tiempo de aprender sobre las experiencias de ni\u00f1os reales que han lidiado no solo con discapacidades y trastornos, sino tambi\u00e9n con el acoso escolar y\/o la exclusi\u00f3n, desarrollar\u00e1n m\u00e1s compasi\u00f3n. Cuando estas experiencias son comunicadas por los propios ni\u00f1os, el mensaje es a\u00fan m\u00e1s poderoso. \u00bfNecesitan un ejemplo? No busquen m\u00e1s que el superh\u00e9roe Jaylen Arnold, a quien nuestra Fundaci\u00f3n present\u00f3 en un reciente <a href=\"https:\/\/seewhatgrows.org\/us\/es\/kids-corner\/inquiring-minds-inspiring-finds\/\">Mentes que inspiran, hallazgos que inspiran<\/a> segmento<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lo diferente es hermoso: \u00a1Ama a todos!\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uL1tuKNJSjE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jaylen se describe a s\u00ed mismo como un \u201cni\u00f1o con capacidades diferentes\u201d que padece el s\u00edndrome de Tourette, el s\u00edndrome de Asperger y trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo, una combinaci\u00f3n que lo llev\u00f3 al acoso escolar y a la exclusi\u00f3n en la escuela p\u00fablica:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cMis padres siempre han protegido mi entorno envi\u00e1ndome a una escuela m\u00e1s peque\u00f1a. En mi escuela, todos me aceptaban y me quer\u00edan. Somos como una familia. Cuando estaba en segundo grado, decid\u00ed que quer\u00eda ir a una escuela mucho m\u00e1s grande. A medida que comenz\u00f3 el acoso escolar, mis trastornos empeoraron mucho con el estr\u00e9s. Los doctores dicen que mis trastornos hacen que tenga tics mucho m\u00e1s severos con el estr\u00e9s. Fui testigo de much\u00edsima pelea, falta de respeto y fealdad. Me intimidaba que los otros ni\u00f1os vieran mis \u201ctics\u201d y supieran que yo era diferente. Me estaba esforzando much\u00edsimo por contenerlos. Iba al pasillo e intentaba dejarlos salir. Con el tiempo, ya no pude contenerlos. Es como un gran estornudo... puedes aguantarlo unos segundos, pero luego simplemente sale con mucha fuerza. \u00a1PUM! Pronto estuve teniendo \u201ctics\u201d todo el d\u00eda. Los otros ni\u00f1os se burlaban y copiaban mis tics<\/em>. <em>Poco despu\u00e9s, la maestra me puso un peque\u00f1o letrero que dec\u00eda que ten\u00eda una condici\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, el s\u00edndrome de Tourette. La maestra pens\u00f3 que me estaba ayudando. Fue vergonzoso porque entonces los ni\u00f1os supieron que algo andaba mal conmigo. Antes de eso, pensaban que mis ruidos y movimientos se deb\u00edan a que era el payaso de la clase. \u00a1A m\u00ed me parec\u00eda bien eso, con \u00a0tal de que no supieran la verdad!\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El desgarrador relato de Jaylen es, desgraciadamente, com\u00fan. Sin embargo, la manera en que pudo crecer a partir de sus experiencias es la ense\u00f1anza en la que queremos que todos se centren.
