Et \u00e0 mesure que les terres se densifient, les communaut\u00e9s se trouvent plus pr\u00e8s de la menace que jamais auparavant, les jardins communautaires et les parcelles d'agriculture urbaine devenant des cibles de choix, en particulier lorsque la s\u00e9cheresse devient une pr\u00e9occupation accrue. Aujourd'hui, au c\u0153ur de la saison, notre Fondation intervient avec des conseils importants pour aider \u00e0 emp\u00eacher votre noble initiative d'agriculture communautaire de partir en fum\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

5 conseils pour prot\u00e9ger votre jardin communautaire contre le risque d'incendie en \u00e9t\u00e9<\/h2>\n

1. \u00c9vitez de cr\u00e9er un jardin dans des zones \u00e0 haut risque<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cette astuce s'adresse \u00e0 ceux d'entre vous qui planifient actuellement un projet de jardin communautaire. Si possible, \u00e9vitez les zones reconnues comme \u00e9tant \u00e0 haut risque pendant les mois d'\u00e9t\u00e9. Votre municipalit\u00e9 locale vous donnera des conseils \u00e0 ce sujet et disposera d'outils que vous pourrez consulter. Par exemple, le district r\u00e9gional de Central Okanagan poss\u00e8de fourni une carte d\u00e9taill\u00e9e<\/a> ce qui met en \u00e9vidence le risque de feux de for\u00eat par r\u00e9gion. Une simple inspection des caract\u00e9ristiques du terrain sera \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s utile. Par exemple, les zones bois\u00e9es pr\u00e9sentent plus de risques que celles situ\u00e9es pr\u00e8s de champs ouverts, de b\u00e9ton ou de cours d'eau locaux. 2. \u00c9viter l'utilisation (ou le stockage) de produits chimiques et de p\u00e9trole\/gaz<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bien que la plupart des jardins partag\u00e9s cultivent des fruits et l\u00e9gumes de mani\u00e8re biologique, sans l'utilisation de pesticides nocifs et autres produits similaires, d'autres substances inflammables peuvent se retrouver sur le site et dans l'abri de jardin. Lisez toutes les \u00e9tiquettes de tout produit non naturel que vous introduisez dans l'environnement du jardin. S'il est inflammable, ne l'entreposez pas sur place.<\/p>\n

3. Stocker de l'eau pour maintenir la parcelle hydrat\u00e9e pendant les s\u00e9cheresses estivales<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adoptez des mesures d'\u00e9conomie d'eau qui vous permettront d'arroser votre jardin tout au long de l'\u00e9t\u00e9. Pour cela, vous pouvez utiliser des citernes d'eau de pluie, recourir au paillage et am\u00e9nager des jardins pluviaux. 4. D\u00e9courager fermement le fait de fumer \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du jardin ou de la ferme<\/strong><\/p>\n

Plus de la moiti\u00e9 des feux de for\u00eat en Colombie-Britannique sont d'origine humaine<\/a>, les m\u00e9gots de cigarette \u00e9tant l'une des principales causes. Ce m\u00eame risque s\u2019applique \u00e0 l\u2019environnement de l\u2019agriculture urbaine. Bien que fumer soit interdit dans les jardins communautaires, il convient \u00e9galement de d\u00e9courager cette pratique dans les zones environnantes, m\u00eame si cette interdiction ne peut \u00eatre officiellement appliqu\u00e9e. Cela signifie que vous devriez installer des panneaux autour du jardin demandant poliment aux passants de ne pas fumer et\/ou de ne pas jeter leurs m\u00e9gots \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du jardin.<\/p>\n

5. Supprimer le \u201c Kindle \u201d inutile de la sc\u00e8ne<\/strong><\/p>\n

La v\u00e9g\u00e9tation s\u00e8che est un probl\u00e8me qui peut \u00eatre r\u00e9solu gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une initiative de pr\u00e9servation de l\u2019eau, mais il existe d\u2019autres sources de \u201c combustible \u201d susceptibles d\u2019accro\u00eetre le risque d\u2019incendie dans votre jardin. Faites le tour de votre parcelle et de ses environs pour rep\u00e9rer la pr\u00e9sence de bois sec inutile, puis ratissez les feuilles et les d\u00e9bris.
